Aussie Pop Icon Kylie Minogue has been locked in to headline the AFL Grand Final Pre-Game Entertainment at the MCG in September. The global superstar will take to the stage in front of an expected 100,000-strong crowd, making it one of the most anticipated performances in the event’s history.

After being considered for the gig in 2023 before US Rock Band KISS took the slot that year, it is finally time for the Pop Songstress to delight Melbourne and AFL fans alike with her dazzling catalogue. Minogue, who was born and raised in Melbourne, has spoken openly about her love for the city and the AFL, making this a true homecoming moment for the iconic artist. The branding says it all: “Kylie is Coming Home.”

Minogue herself couldn’t hide her excitement with the announcement, saying: “As a Melburnian, I’m so excited to be coming home for the biggest day in the Aussie sporting calendar. I’ll not only be performing, but I’ll be one of 100,000 fans at the ‘G, watching the wonder that is footy.”

AFL CEO Andrew Dillon was equally enthusiastic: “Kylie has been on our wish list for a long time, and there is no better artist to headline the performance prior to our biggest game of the season. Our AFL team recently joined Kylie at the MCG for the Grand Final content shoot, and you could already feel the excitement for September building.”
