Ariana Grande has released her highly anticipated new single, “hate that i made you love me,” from her upcoming album, petal. The Arianators have been waiting for this track with bated breath, and she has finally arrived, just before Ari kicks off her next tour!

From the very first note, the song radiates a peaceful, melancholic, yet mysterious energy. The production is layered with familiar synths and a slow, pulsing beat that gives the entire track a mystical vibe. Grande’s vocals are absolutely perfect. They always are, but wowwwww!!!! These were gorgeous! She effortlessly moves between a low register and airy backing vocals, drawing the listener into her world of temptation and regret.

Lyrically, “hate that I made you love me” is raw and confessional, with Grande taking responsibility. Every word drips with longing and regret, but there’s also a powerful sense of control and allure. The song feels like a midnight confession whispered in the dark, as Ariana invites us into her shadowy, seductive universe. She doesn’t reinvent the wheel with this song, but I don’t think she necessarily has to. She knows what sound works for her, and she's building on that universe.

“hate that i made you love me” is a mysterious track that showcases her artistic vision. It’s the kind of song that lingers long after it ends, leaving you wanting more, just like a sexy perfume. With this single, Ariana Grande proves she’s not reinventing her sound: she’s owning it.
